11th Grade Novel Preview

Now is a great time to get ready for "Back to School." If you are going into the 11th grade at Encore, Mr. Parker's class will be reading Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" during the first weeks of school. This is a great book that goes through the passion and the feelings of the Salem Witch trials. If you want to get a jump on your school year, you might want to pick up (or online order) a copy of this novel so you can start reading it before school starts in the fall. This is actually one of my favorite novels.

Mr. Parker is one of Encore's veteran teachers that has been with Encore Education Corporation for ten years. He has a great classroom presence and is well respected by the juniors and seniors that take his class. He is also respected by his peers as the Languages Department Chair to help in teacher guidance throughout the school year.

Mr. Parker and all of the teachers of Encore have been working tirelessly this summer to get all of their curriculum onto an online platfom as the contingency plan for the fall. (I also think that this transition is putting Encore ahead of the education technology race.) Mr. Parker teaches English III, English IV, and rotates year over year AP English Literature and Composition and AP English Language and Composition.

Every day, Encore staff is working on the online digital platform that will help guide students when school reopens in the fall. In the coming weeks, parents and families will have access to the platform as it moves from the current beta site onto Encore's encorestudent.com home. Keep watching for updates to get a preview for Encore's new learning platform. Our teachers have worked very hard to make this a reality.
