8th Grade Novel Preview


As friends in your neighborhood go back to class in the next week, Encore's first day of school is still over a month away. If you are bored and are done with screen time, you might want to get a jump start on your novel reading for the school year. A few days ago, we had posted that juniors will be reading "The Crucible" as school opens next month. Eighth grade will be reading the "Diary of Anne Frank" during first semester for RLA 8.


As Encore's teachers are working hard to create the Learning platform with the classes all in one convenient place (that will land on the encorestudent.com website sometime in August), I am having a ball seeing what the students will be assigned to read this year. Reading is the key to expanding vocabulary and learning how to form more complex sentence structure. It also helps improve writing and in a world where people are writing all the time, being able to become great at it is an essential trait of all students.


Ms. Sarah Greene is the 8th grade History and English teacher this school year. Her lessons have been developed with the student centered in the plans and her experience as a teacher and at Encore (She has been at Encore since 2014) have made her a great asset to the Encore team. All of Encore's 8th grade is in for a treat when they meet her.


Get a jump start on the school year and read. Read well and read often.
