Advanced Placement (AP)

Encore offers a variety of AP courses for juniors and seniors on campus. The courses are approved by the College Board for A-G qualification. For the 21/22 school year, students can enroll in the following AP courses:

  • AP Biology

  • AP English Language and Composition

  • AP Government and Politics

  • AP Spanish Language and Culture

When students of Encore are looking for a rigorous course of study, they combine these AP courses with the wide variety of accelerated Honors courses that are offered on campus.

AP courses are very difficult and have an extensive summer assignment as well as extensive homework to complete the course.

Why Take the AP Exam?

Taking the Advanced Placement exam is an important part of the AP experience and is an opportunity for students to demonstrate how well they have mastered the material and skills for the course. Encore strongly encourages all AP students to take the associated College Board exam at the end of the course in May. If a student does well on an AP exam, they can earn college credit that can potentially save them money on college tuition later. Before you take the course, make sure you look at the requirements from your potential colleges to understand what is required and expected.
