HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
I know that this is not what anyone expected when they were preparing for the first day of school this year. The anticipation of what to wear and what friends you were going to see first is a lot different this year. With our Encore team working with Aeries to fix whatever the hiccup us with access to schedules and with about half of our students not picking a program for the fall - it has been a wild ride into this first day of school. Today's blog is coming at the request of the counseling department since A LOT of students and families may have picked a program that they did not mean to pick.
There is a big difference between COVID Distance Learning and Independent Study.
INDEPENDENT STUDY - For everyone that has chosen Independent Study for your course of learning this fall, you will not have a Zoom ID and many of you may not have a schedule in Aeries yet. You will be working directly with our IS coordinators, Mr. McAnulty for grades 10 - 12 and Mr. Elias for grades 7 - 9. They will set you up on your self-paced courses and you are running on a completely different timeline than everyone else. You will be able to attend classes for tutoring help, but you will not have a "real time" schedule to follow. (There are about 100 that have chosen Independent Study this year.)
COVID DISTANCE LEARNING - For everyone that has chosen COVID Distance Learning for your course of learning this fall, you should have a full schedule. You should be planning on attending class on Zoom in real time. If you are unable to access your schedule due to the Aeries glitch, you will be checking in with your English teacher this morning.
JUNIOR HIGH WITH CONSERVATORY LEVEL CLASSES - Your schedules are unique. On your class schedule, it says when your conservatory level classes will happen. Technically you are attending high school when you go to your conservatory classes. When you go to conservatory classes, you will also be going to them on the high school bell schedule. It is confusing at first, but don't worry. We will get you situated and ready to go. For this week, only go to your classes that do not say, "High school conservatory" on them. On Friday after homeroom, we will set up a special meeting just for you so we can go over how to attend your conservatory classes. You will start conservatory classes next Monday.

It is time to create good habits and work every day for academic success. Attendance matters so make every day count and complete this attendance form when school starts to validate your attendance.

If you fill out the contact form on the bottom of the encorehighschool.com website page, we can get to you faster. We check that throughout the day and only check this weekly. I hope this information is helpful.
Hi Danielle - Thank you for your comment. We also emailed the Zoom IDs directly to everyone because the Zoom session was blurry for some. You can always fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page to get a quicker response.
