Anyone interested in auditioning for any of these CTE programs need to provide a headshot, resume, and demo reel to ceo@officerteam.com. In the Subject line of the email, title it "AUDITION." All candidates will be notified of a time and day that their virtual Zoom audition will take place. First, let's talk about the three Career Technical Education programs that are being offered in the arts programs this fall.

MUSIC - STREET BAND

The Street Band is an A-G recognized Honors program for musicians that is offered through Encore. The goal of the Street Band is to develop musicians to be able to break into the professional music world after high school or secure a music scholarship to the university of their choice. Graduates from this program have been accepted to Berklee School of Music, Redlands University, Chapman University, and many more.

The Street Band tours to different venues to play a commercial set for elementary schools, theme parks, and other festivals and fairs. They learn how to perform like a professional musician on and off stage. They are enrolled in two specific classes for Street Band - Professional Musicans Honors Class and Rock Band. After school and occasional weekend obligations are a part of this special program. This program has limited enrollment, less than 15 will be accepted to the program.

FILM / FILM ACTORS - NEW IN FALL 2020

The Film/Film Actors program combines filmmakers and actors that are ready to direct their own films. Over the course of the school year, this group will organize and film a series of works created from existing written work and self created screenwriting. All members of this program will learn the mechanics of Directing their own film and will be able to be a part of some of the student films created over the course of the year. Directors in this program will learn all of the steps in creating a film (from casting to post production) and will create film(s) for the end of the year Film Festival to be held at a theater outside of Encore. Students will also be encouraged to submit completed work to festivals and competitions.

Encore's Film/Film Actors program enrolls students into four consecutive classes - Film, Film Lab, Film Acting/Directing, and Screenwriting. After school, on set, and occasional weekend obligations are a part of this special program. This program has limited enrollment, less than 40 will be accepted to the program.

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

The Professional Artist Development program is an extensive, rigorous A-G Honors career pathway that teaches performing artists (with the concentration on singing, dancing, and circus arts) how to turn their talents into a viable business and career. This is the oldest career program at Encore (Predating Encore itself, this program was founded in 2003). Artists that have been a part of this program have been seen worldwide on big screens, small screens, paid equity stages, concerts, and have received countless university scholarships and agency representation. Artists that graduate from this program have the tools they need to move forward into Artist career.

The Professional Artist Development program is the most engaged and active program on campus. They have an annual tour that goes to elementary schools, amusement parks, and festivals and fairs worldwide. They go to bootcamp during the summer and study in Las Vegas in the spring with industry professionals. They compete at a variety of competitions and they headline at an annual industry showcase where college scouts, industry managers, and agents attend to see their work. (The most recent showcase was held at the House of Blues.) There is also a summer project. The project for the summer of 2021 is a festival in England (delayed from 2020 due to Covid-19). This program takes three classes on a single day block - a solo vocalist class, a dance class, and a circus class. They are also enrolled in an after school class - Professional Artist Development Honors Class that meets after school on the same days as their block to prepare productions. This program does a lot of traveling, after school, and weekend commitments.
