Housekeeping End of Semester 1

I hope that everyone had a great long weekend. Even though we are still at home, it is still important to take time to enjoy the little things and try to make sure that you are giving your brain space an opportunity to rest.

• FRIDAY IS AN A DAY. With this Monday having no school, FRIDAY WILL BE AN "A" DAY. Please make note that Friday will have a regular "A" Day schedule. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

• MAKEUP PACKETS DUE MARCH 12. The end of first semester has happened. For those of you that received a "NM" or an "F" for a semester grade in your classes, you and your parent/guardian will receive an emailed packet for you to make up enough work to get your grade to a "C." Each of these packets have been tailored to fit your specific needs and the work provided will need to be completed by March12, 2021. On March 12, whatever grade you have for first semester will go onto your transcripts.

• STATE TESTING IS AROUND THE CORNER. It is very important that everyone continues to go to class remotely and complete the coursework as outlined. Your teachers will be working on test prep to help with state testing. We want to make sure that all of our students are showing school pride by doing the best they can on the state tests this year...even in the pandemic.

• TEACHERS ARE STARTING TO GET VACCINES. As the world continues to move through COVID-19, Encore's teaching staff is starting to get vaccines this week. We are hoping that we will be allowed to reopen before the end of the school year.

• CLASSROOMS ARE BEING OUTFITTED WITH UV SANITATION LIGHTS. On top of all of the other equipment that has been installed on campus to help stop the spread of Coronavirus and other germs, Encore is placing UV sanitation lights into every single classroom. That means that during the times of breaks and at the end of every day, teachers will be sanitizing their rooms with UV lights that kill various types of microorganisms including the Coronavirus and dust mites. We have also equipped most rooms with hands free hand sanitizers and hands free paper towel dispensers. We are also installing bottle water dispensers and removing the old-fashioned water fountains for sanitation.
