"Real Time" Class From Home

While Encore is still planning to move forward with their "Family Choice Model" program when school reopens on September 14th, what happens if San Bernardino County is not yet off of the state monitor list for Covid-19?

With Encore's four different choice program within the "Family Choice Model" families will have access to daily instruction by the veteran teachers in each of their subjects. If a family chooses Traditional Seat Based Program, Hybrid Program, or the COVID Program and San Bernardino still cannot open any type of school on campus, these students will be able to log in to their teacher's class in real time to start working the semester. That way, as soon as possible, students can resume learning in their chosen way.

Encore's staff is currently calling families to confirm what enrollment program they are planning to be a part of this fall. As they choose, this will determine how instruction will be delivered no matter what the opening modifications are that are mandated by the state.

Encore's staff has adopted a new learning platform that will work in conjunction with the already implemented Cyber High. This fall, students will be using Encore's curriculum platform, Zoom for class, Cyber High for some curriculum, Science Alive! for junior high science, Google classroom to turn in assignments, their personal encorestudent email accounts, and Remind to make sure that they can stay connected with their teachers and their education this fall. Encore plans to give parents and students the opportunity to "test drive" the new platform some time in August before school starts.

If San Bernardino County is still not cleared to open on September 14th as planned, school will start in real time. This means that students that are on the COVID, Traditional, or Hybrid programs will log in to school at the same time that classes start. Students will be able to go to class remotely following their actual school schedule in real time. In the event of connectivity issues, teachers will email daily assignments and recorded sessions so students can recap at a later time that day. For families that have connectivity issues, Encore's IT department will work with them directly to help them get connected.

Encore's Arts classes are not being forgotten either. Productions and events are being planned for second semester, but Encore's artists will still be busy building their craft during first semester with previews and showcases on Instagram, Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook.
