Celebrating 10 years of Circus at Encore


When Encore started the cirque acrobatics program in 2009, things were a lot different then they are today. The campus did not have portables, the quad was where D16, 17 and 18 now are and the single point rig was in the area where B16, 17, and 18 now are. Cirque acrobatics started as an after school program that only allowed 20 people in at a time. Wow, have times changed.


On June 26, 2010 - Encore held its very first Cirque Acrobatics Recital. With coaches Ms. Jessica and Ms. Tori from industry (training people like Pink and working professionally with Cirque du Soleil prior to training here) - the students and coaches created the birth of Encore's Circus program.


The expertise that was brought to the high desert was amazing. The expert rigger Mr. Chobi helped our non profit organizaton open this door to our students. He has been the professional trainer and rigger for people like Katy Perry, Pink, Dance Moms, and too many more to list. He also has done extensive rigging work on movies like "Water for Elephants." (He still inspects our rigs every school year and helps us whenever we expand rigging.)


The first circus recital was held on a Saturday morning in the theater in June, prior to Encore having air conditioning in the theater.







We love to see our always improving programs and take time to celebrate milestones, like 10 years of circus.
