When building an organization that helps build the educational, emotional, and social growth for young minds, it is important to have a good balance of staff and experience to share the academic plan and teaching mechanisms with the students. It is important to have a variety of staff experience to make sure that the teaching is strong, but innovation and new ideas are still a part of the plan.
At the close of the 19/20 school year, Encore did the research of where the 76 member staff is in terms of Encore longevity for the 20/21 school year. Encore has always had the ratio of about 1 adult for every 12 kids on campus and that ratio will continue this fall.
Encore started in the fall of 2008 with 40 employees. As with any business, staff will come and go through the years. Lifestyles change. People move. People change careers and people retire. The following graph shows that about 78% of Encore's current staff has been with Encore for three or more years. Almost 40% of Encore's staff has been strengthening the mission of Encore for five or more years and eight percent of Encore's staff has been here since year one. Almost 16% of Encore's staff has helped build Encore for ten or more years. Going into this fall, Encore is hiring only three new people.

The focus in today's blog is the fact that Encore has a well-balanced staff that has a lot of experience to share with the students of Encore. 96% of Encore's team has already been working for Encore as we go into a really strange time for the 20/21 school year. This gives Encore the opportunity to build programs and plan for the unknown with people that have already been involved with Encore for some time and have already been teaching for some time. (This graph does not address how many years a teacher was teaching before coming to Encore.) As Encore's teachers are working to build new platforms for Distance Learning to help with whatever comes next (Family choice, at home, or on campus) it is their experience of teaching successfully, helping students get into college, and helping our diverse students from diverse backgrounds outpace test scores from their neighborhoods that will help Encore's programs succeed during this unprecedented time.
Today, Encore is celebrating the commitment of our fantastic staff in helping the Encore student succeed. Thank you to all of them that are commited to the excellence in Encore's student education.
