As today marks the start of our 13th back to school teacher inservice, I wanted to take a quick moment to thank all teachers that have chosen the life and the profession that they have to help the world become a better place. Without teachers, there would be no doctors, lawyers, scientists, artists, and successful adults. Behind every successful adult is a lifetime of teachers that helped mold them to become a success. Thank you.
Encore still has a few weeks before we start school with students (September 14). Our faculty has been carefully planning and preparing for all of the tricky ins and outs that are going to come with the new school year. We have a great head start on planning since our team worked so hard in the spring to bring the students an innovative, student centered and technological education, but we still have a lot to do before the new school year starts.
All of us have been carefully watching our friends across the country (and aborad) that are teachers as they step into their new school year. We are taking notes and trying to make sure that we can learn from their experiences and plan for success. We are sharing the stories of our friends with each other and acting as the student in such an unusual time. I saw a meme yesterday that I felt hit home. It said, "Be kind to your teachers because a lot of them are building the plane while they are flying it."
Today, we are introducing a couple new teachers into the Encore family for their first day of orientation. We are excited to welcome them into our family and even more excited to work to bring our students a solid education and sense of "normal" in our current state of the world. Continuing to learn and continuing to place importance on a lifetime of learning is so important for our kids right now. I am proud of our team and their commitment to our kids.
Whether you are a teacher at Encore or not, I applaud your flexibility and your tenacity moving into this school year. Thank you to all of the teachers in the world. Without you, future generations are lost. You are the pilot that will lead this generation into a successful future. Thank you for all that you do. You are appreciated.
We are excited for a great year. Thank you for your ongoing support of youth arts and thank you for your ongoing support of Encore High School.
